







Introducing Polyphemus - Including Filament Dryer Polyphemus 3KG Extension
The ultimate solution for filament drying. With multiple hot air outlets, it ensures even heating without excessive temperatures. The rotating motor provides 360° automatic rotating heating for uniform drying.
Polyphemus features an adjustable exhaust vent for controlling internal humidity and temperature. This prevents over-drying and maintains optimal conditions. Safety is prioritized with a PTC heating element and fire-resistant casing.
Pre-programmed drying parameters cover nine materials, with three customizable slots for personalized settings. Real-time temperature and humidity display allows for monitoring. After 3 years of accumulation and feedback from supporters, we developed a new generation of filament dryer.
Directly blowing hot air from the heating element onto the filament may result in excessively high temperatures and uneven heating. Polyphemus addresses this concern by incorporating multiple hot air outlets, ensuring that the hot air does not directly blow onto the filament.
Although Polyphemus has multiple air outlets, there may still be uneven heating between the top and bottom of the drying chamber. To address this, we have added a rotating motor. You can easily activate the rotation function with a single button, truly achieving 360° automatic rotating heating.
Automatic Humidity Control Function
When heating is not required, you can activate the humidity mode and freely set the desired humidity level. The system will automatically activate the heating to regulate the internal humidity according to the set value. This ensures that the filament is always ready for printing.
In addition, the system is equipped with 3 different heating power settings. When you need to dry high temperature materials (such as PA), you can choose the full power mode for quick drying. When drying materials with lower temperature resistance (such as PLA), you can select the low power mode for gentle drying. In the low power mode, the drying process is more gentle, and the temperature control is more precise.
The program has built in baking parameters for 9 types of materials: PLA, ABS, PA, PC, PETG, ASA, PVA, TPU, and PP. There are also 3 additional customizable material slots: M1, M2, and M3. Each material parameter includes settings for temperature, baking time, and heating power level. You can modify these parameters based on the specific requirements of your materials, and the built in system will save your settings even in the event of a power outage.
Regarding temperature, the sensors of POLYPHEMUS are placed inside the chamber. We have carefully selected multiple temperature measurement points within the box and determined the optimal sensor placement. The temperature measured at this location closely reflects the temperature of the filament. Additionally, we provide real time temperature display, allowing you to monitor the temperature of the filament at any time. The system also supports switching between Celsius (℃) and Fahrenheit (℉) for temperature display. Moreover, the system supports humidity display. In nonheating mode, you can switch to humidity mode, where the system stops heating and only displays the humidity value.
In order to make Polyphemus more convenience to use, it has features an adjustable exhaust vent located on the top of the lid. When heating is not required, you can close the exhaust vent to control the internal humidity and temperature. This helps maintain the desired environmental conditions while avoiding excessive drying.
Furthermore, POLYPHEMUS provides a dedicated compartment where you can place desiccants. The desiccants absorb moisture from the air, further ensuring a dry environment for the filament. You can choose suitable desiccants and replace them in a timely manner based on their lifespan.
The combination of these features enhances the operational flexibility and filament protection capabilities of POLYPHEMUS, enabling you to achieve optimal drying results.
Regarding Fire Safety
Similar to Cyclopes and Easdry, Polyphemus also utilizes the safer PTC heating element. Without fan cooling, the internal temperature can only rise to approximately 200℃, which is safer compared to PI heating elements that can potentially cause open flames. Additionally, all the external casings of Polyphemus are made from the highest fire resistance grade material, V0 level.
Furthermore, the system has real time monitoring of the internal fan. In the event of a fan failure, the system will automatically trigger an alarm and shut down. Safety is our top priority when it comes to this product.
To facilitate easy connection to the 3D printer, Polyphemus is equipped with a total of 5 filament outlets on the front and back. These outlets allow you to connect the filament to the printer without the need for additional piercing or modifications. Even if the filament is already connected to the printer, you can directly place it inside the drying chamber of Polyphemus. Additionally, there are 3 wire outlets on the top of Polyphemus, allowing you the flexibility to position the wires in any desired direction.The handle on the top of Polyphemus allows you to easily open the top cover.
After installing the expansion module, Polyphemus expands from its original 210mm diameter to accommodate a larger 250mm diameter. This increase in size allows for the capacity to hold up to 3kg of filament.
